Shop Ops / PWA

Riley's Powersports
Shop Ops

An independent powersports shop was running jobs on paper, text threads, and a whiteboard. Redline built them a full operational system in a single-file PWA: work orders, SMS customer updates, photo attachments, QR equipment tags, labor tracking, and a real-time money dashboard.

The problem.

Riley runs a small powersports shop. Good mechanic, full schedule, but the operational layer was bleeding money. Work orders lived on paper. Customer updates went out by text from whoever's phone was nearest. Photos of damage lived in someone's camera roll. The "money dashboard" was a spreadsheet opened once a month if the lights stayed on.

He didn't need an off-the-shelf shop management SaaS at $300 a month with 400 features he'd never use. He needed exactly the tools he already does manually, in one place, on his phone.

"I don't need a system that runs a dealership.
I need a system that runs my shop."

The build.

Redline delivered a single-file Progressive Web App deployed to modern edge hosting, persisted through cloud key/value storage, and pinned to Riley's phone home screen. No app store. No install friction. Two passcodes (owner and mechanic) gate the UI. Role-colored tags and permissions separate what each person can see and do.

The stack.

HTML / CSS / JS Edge Hosting Cloud Storage PWA / Service Worker QR.js Twilio (SMS)

The outcome.

Thirteen features shipped across two build iterations. The v2 rewrite consolidated the feature set, tightened the UI, and added the money dashboard. Riley now closes out jobs on the fly and texts customers from the same screen that logs labor. The whiteboard is still there, but it's mostly for drawing.

More importantly: the tool costs Riley about $20 a month in hosting. Not $300. The difference is a monthly parts order.

Need a tool like this?

Most shops don't need enterprise software. They need exactly the system they already run, in one place. Let's talk.
